NEW CONSTITUENCY

EXMOUTH & EXETER EAST

Incorporating Pinhoe’s suburban centre with the stretching landscape of Exe Valley and the parish of Broadclyst, the new constituency runs through St Loyes and Topsham in Exeter, along the East Devon coast to Exmouth. It includes the large wards of Whimple & Rockbeare, alongside Woodbury & the barracks at Lympstone, with the important stretch of coastline including Budleigh Salterton ward.

It is a diverse new parliamentary constituency with no clear sense of identity at this early stage. Electing a member of parliament is an opportunity to give voice to challenges across the constituency area: especially with regards to civic infrastructure, water quality.

“Triple E” (Exmouth & Exeter East) will see significant change in the next 5 years.

Pinhoe is the city gateway to East Devon; part of the growth corridor to Skypark and the Science Park with its new hotel development, Pinhoe Station is a strategic transport hub for the Greater Pinhoe area. The recently confirmed extension to Cranbrook will sit as part of wider development in this part of East Devon as significant plans for the new town at Rockbeare develops. The need for integrated funding for civic infrastructure is playing out across the Exmouth / Budleigh coastline as water quality is suffering from sewage spills.
